What is the Political Courage Test?

Oregon Congressional Election 2022 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I am in 100% support of pro-life legislation at the state level. There is no compromise when it comes to the life the baby in the womb.
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
Social Security administration is on track to run out of the reserves by the start of 2034 and will have to reduce the pay to 78% of a retirees full retirement benefit. According to a report from Medicare's trustees, Medicare's program part A will run out of money in 2026. The programs must be rewritten and/or phased out.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
There is too much influence with indirect campaign contributions.
Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
I would need to know exactly what provisions protect government officials. If they are violating the Constitution, the answer is no. It seems some government officials hide illegal actions claiming protection, this needs to be evaluated. At this time, I need additional information to make an informed decision.
Do you support increasing defense spending?
There is a lot of waste at most levels of government. Before I can say I support increasing defense spending, I would need to see and review a complete audit of the books to see how the funds are currently spent.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation?
It is unconscionable for any government agency to create a national emergency due to a 'virus' without knowing the facts. Then to virtually shut down the entire nation putting millions out of work, causing a ripple effect we still feel today. Over 100,000 restaurants across the U.S. are shuttered. The government pushed for the '' it is a deadly virus'' narrative when the virus has a better than 97% survivability rate. At the end of the day, I must determine if the financial relief would even be Constitutional. If it is not 100% Constitutional, I must vote no.
Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt?
Absolutely NO! U.S. Department of Education needs to be phased out as it is not Constitutional. Let the local area make the and follow the standards.
Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls?
We need the following: 1)Clean voter rolls, 2)Count the votes by hand, 3)Voter ID, 4) Paper ballots in those states where voters vote on a machine, 5)Absentee voting for those in the military, living abroad and traveling, or unable to travel to a polling place, 6) Smaller precincts, 7)Outlaw ballot harvesting, 8)Have increased ballot processing transparency, 9)Make election day a holiday, 10) prison sentences for those who are convicted of election fraud.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
CO2 is 80% of the so called greenhouse gases. GHG proponents want zero carbon emissions. This poses a problem they are not talking about. Trees sequester CO2, Methane, and other gases. In turn, trees give us oxygen. if CO2 emissions are reduced to zero or near zero, the trees will die. If the trees die off, the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere will disappear and then we die.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
That would be a violation of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Do you support a government-run (single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All?
Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave opportunities?
Do you support lowering the cost of prescription drugs?
Unconstitutional.
Do you support increasing security along the southern US border?
Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
possibly.
Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts?
Do you support the U.S. providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine?
Yes and it must be done in a logical systematic way. Making sure our allies, U.S. Citizens and assets are removed before the troops leave.
No Do you support raising taxes, on any income or on any entity, to promote economic growth?
No Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
Election Integrity: Ensure any machines used to count votes are from U.S. based firms and are 100% legit. Protecting the lives of all yet to be born children. Properly securing our borders and completing the fencing along the southern borders is essential. Funding was already appropriated to complete the fence. Additional funding should not be necessary.
